Courses
Scott College is well known for its exceptional courses and study options on offer including Distance Learning, Double Major, Dual Enrollment of High School Students, ESL, Honors Program, Independent Study, Internships and Study Abroad among others. The university has disability services as well. The college offers career counseling, employment service and on campus day care for the benefit of its students.
Some of the majors offered by Scott Community College include computer science, Foreign Language and Literature, Personal and Culinary Services, Business, Management, & Marketing, Accounting, Administrative/Secretarial Services and Health and Clinical Sciences, all of which are in heavy demand in the career market. The successful students will be given career counseling so that they get posted in the best openings that match their qualifications and faculties.
Admissions
Though they follow an open admission policy, the students who wish to seek admission in Scott Community College need to submit their ACT scores or take a COMPASS test conducted by the college. The colleges make sure that the students get placed in the appropriate classes, regardless of whether or not they completed high school. Students who have not completed high school may have to take additional classes to prepare them to complete college level coursework.
Academics
Remedial classes are provided for students who might need special tutorials at no extra cost. In addition, the college has a well stocked library and child care facility too at the Scott Community College campus to cater to the exceptional needs of its diverse student community.
Financial Aid
Scott Community College offers financial aid and grants for eligible degree seeking students enrolled in credit classes. Students enrolled in short-term programs (certificate or diploma programs less than 24 credit hours) may not be eligible for financial aid. The financial aid office of the college will provide all the details in this regard. Part time employed students are provided funds through the Federal College Work Study Program.
